Main Hall

The heart of the building, this expansive hall is flooded with natural light and features a high-spec, easy-to-clean flooring system—ideal for movement-based practices.

  • Best for: Yoga, Pilates, dance, arts and crafts, tea and coffee mornings, pre-school groups, workshops, training, large presentations, etc.
  • Features: Presentation platform, whiteboard, high ceilings, and direct radiator heating.
  • Dimensions: 10.5m x 8.0m (34ft x 26ft)

First Floor Meeting Room

A professional, private space tailored for productivity and digital presentations.

  • Best for: Board meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
  • Features: Large wall-mounted smart TV/monitor, whiteboard, and perimeter storage/countertop.
  • Capacity: Seats approx. 12–14 around a central table.
  • Dimensions: 4.5m x 4.0m (15ft x 13ft)

Ground Floor Meeting Room

A vibrant, accessible space perfect for smaller groups or as a breakout room for the Main Hall.

  • Best for: Small workshops, interviews, or community consultations.
  • Features: Direct access to a kitchenette/sink area, whiteboard, and bright, modern decor.
  • Capacity: Seats approx. 8–10.
  • Dimensions: 8.0m x 3.0m (26ft x 10ft)

Getting to Scout House

The venue is exceptionally well-connected to central London by tube and bus.

Underground (Tube)

  • Bermondsey Station (Jubilee Line): This is the nearest station, approximately a 5-minute walk (400m) from Scout House. The Jubilee Line provides direct and fast links to:
    • London Bridge: ~2 minutes
    • Canary Wharf: ~4 minutes
    • Waterloo: ~5 minutes
    • Westminster: ~7 minutes

Bus Routes

Several bus stops are located directly on or very near Jamaica Road, providing 24-hour access across South and Central London:

  • Route 188: North Greenwich to Russell Square (via Elephant & Castle and Waterloo).
  • Route 47: Bellingham to Shoreditch (via London Bridge and Liverpool Street).
  • Route 381 / N381: Peckham to County Hall/Waterloo (via London Bridge).
  • Route C10: Canada Water to Victoria Station.
  • Route P12: Brockley Rise to Surrey Quays.

Train (Overground)

  • Rotherhithe Station: Roughly a 10-15 minute walk (approx. 1km), offering Overground services toward Highbury & Islington (North) or West Croydon/Crystal Palace (South).

Walking & Cycling

  • The venue is located immediately adjacent to Southwark Park, making it easily accessible for those arriving on foot from the surrounding Bermondsey and Rotherhithe areas.
  • There are Cycle Superhighways nearby, and bike docking stations are frequently found along Jamaica Road.

 Parking

Public transport is the easiest way to reach the venue. No on-site parking is available at Scout House and Jamaica Road is a busy red route with restricted street parking.

Booking Terms & Requirements

We prioritize the creation of a calm, professional environment and focus on daytime regular hire. Please note the following:

  • Usage: Our lease strictly prohibits use by religious organizations or for political purposes.
  • No Parties: We do not accept bookings for parties, birthdays, or high-noise social events.
  • Regular Hire: We offer preferential rates and priority scheduling for long-term, weekly daytime bookings.
